Who these terms are with

These terms cover your use of isvs.vet, including the members-only portal. ISVS, the International Society of Veterinary Specialists, operates from India.

Membership is free

Joining ISVS is free and nothing is sold on this site. There is no checkout, no subscription and nothing to pay.

Paid teaching and mentorship positions, and paid trainee places at VHI partner institutions, are arranged separately with the people and institutions concerned. These terms do not create an employment relationship, and nothing here promises you a position or a place.

Who can join

Sign-up is open to specialists, CertAVP holders and RCVS-recognised specialists, or the equivalent, anywhere in the world. Every application is checked.

We may decline an application, or withdraw access later, if we cannot confirm your credentials or if what you told us is not accurate.

Your account

Your account is personal to you. Do not share your sign-in. Tell us if you think someone else has used it.

Trainees

Trainees are enrolled by VHI partner institutions and reach only their institution’s training spaces and the teams supporting their training. The lead at your institution can remove you from their training group, which withdraws that access.

How we expect you to behave

The portal is a collegiate professional space. Engage respectfully with other members.

Keep patient and client information confidential, and anonymise a case before you discuss it.

Do not use the portal to sell or market anything, to recruit commercially, or to solicit members privately.

What you post

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it you give ISVS permission to store it and display it in the portal so that other members who can reach that space can read it.

Do not post material you do not have the right to share. Do not take other members’ material out of the portal, publish it elsewhere, or use it to train a machine-learning model.

Rounds and meetings

We do not record rounds. You must not record, photograph or transcribe a round without the express agreement of everyone in it. What is discussed in a round stays in the round.

Clinical responsibility

Everything shared through ISVS is educational. It is not a substitute for your own clinical judgement, your professional obligations or the standards of your regulator.

You remain responsible for the diagnosis, treatment and welfare of every patient in your care. Case material may be adapted or anonymised for teaching.

Suspension and removal

We may suspend or remove your access for a breach of these terms, and we will tell you why. A serious breach of confidentiality may mean removal without warning.

Availability

We do not promise that the site will always be available, and we may change, move or withdraw parts of the portal.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Otherwise, and because membership is free, our liability to you is limited to the fullest extent the law allows, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction. If you live in the EU or the UK you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your country of residence.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version.
